Manitoba Lyme and Tick-borne illnesses is coming under photographic scrutiny and you can play your part.

MB Health has released a new surveillance map showing where there are confirmed blacklegged tick populations.

Blacklegged ticks can be anywhere as they travel on deer, mice, rabbits, squirrels or birds.

If you find a tick send it to the Manitoba Tick Checker. Take a picture of the tick, keep it in a well-sealed container or bag with a damp cotton ball. Manitoba Health will identify the tick and may ask that it be sent in for testing.
