The Portage Citizen — Rain didn’t put a damper on spirits — canine and biped — during the 9th Annual Pawlooza in the Park Saturday at Island Park.
Pawlooza in the Park is an annual Dog Walk, fundraiser and adoptathon put on by PAWS (Portage Animal Welfare Society). Three furry buddies were available to test drive during the event all hoping to find a forever home.

The event is to help raise money and awareness for the stray and abandoned dogs and cats in the City and RM of Portage la Prairie.

Dozens of walkers supported Pawlooza in the Park, including local businesses and volunteers.

Loads of fun is the cornerstone of Pawlooza in the Park — what else could you call a Smooch Your Pooch Booth? Participants also enjoyed a barbecue, pet-related vendors and services and a PAWS store.
