On July 5th at 6 pm, at the beautiful Island Park outdoor stage the sweet sounds of the Hutterite Choir will be warming up the stage for the husband and wife singing duo Farmer.
Everyone is welcome to come out and kick off this season’s opener of Concerts in the Park. Please bring along a friend and a lawn chair, the cost is FREE!
Farmer The Band is Canadian grown Americana. They are heavily influenced by all things CBC. Based in Southern BC they have been performing together for 5 years (3 yrs as Farmer The Band).
Lourine Koide is a harvester of metaphors and hope, inspired by the social conscious poetry of her South African roots and new homeland of Canada. Glen Koide, a BC boy, is a flat pickin’, finger pluckin’ strummer equally at home on the acoustic or electric guitar.
The singer-songwriting team met at an open mic, then started off performing with two guitars in local coffee shops and farmers markets as a folk duo. Now they perform with a van full of instruments in venues coast to coast as husband and wife.
‘We’ve been blessed to have our music take us across Canada twice and we are excitedly getting prepared for our 3rd Canadian tour starting spring 2018.’
