Concerts in the Park brings back two crowd favourites on July 26
Local singer/songwriter Suzanne Bird will be warming up the stage for Snapmare Driver at Concerts in the Park on July 26 at 6 p.m.
Bird is a local favourite for her performance enthusiasm and rollicking voice. She is looking forward to opening the show.
Snapmare Driver is a country rock band that plays hotter than BBQ ribs and cooler than bourbon. And like the notorious wrestling move that they were named after, Snapmare Driver combines a variety of influences and styles to create a unique and powerful experience and sound.
Consisting of veteran musicians with diverse musical influences they create original music that is lively, fun and usually comes with a sing-along chorus. Snapmare Driver is a crowd motivator.
On guitar, pedal steel and backup vocals is Squinny Nelson, a country picker whose guitar and pedal steel will beguile you. Backing Ken up on rhythm guitar is lead vocalist Marc Battle who likes his country with a little R and B. Keeping the rhythm jumping is Jeff Weibe with his melodious bass lines that match his beautiful voice. And holding it all together is Dan Barr on drums who also creates experimental music on the side.
Catch them live in the park on July 26 and bring along your dancing shoes.
Concerts in the Park are held at the beautiful Island Park outdoor stage on Thursdays from 6 – 8 p.m.
Bring along a lawn chair and a friend. The best things in life are free!
