A good recipe is made up of the sum of its parts and for 10 years Krista Zeghers, Don Zeghers and Coreen Zerr and have been using a collaborative recipe with results.
Throw in a pinch of Zeghers with a smidgen of Zerr and you get the decade-long artistic effort that is “Three, two, one – create”.
Krista and Don live in Treherne, MB while Coreen lives on Vancouver Island. Working collaboratively at a distance has some challenges but they have been able to meet and create numerous collaborative works of art.
Krista, Don and Coreen have been collaborating on numerous art pieces for over 10 years. Don is the photographer who takes photos while on vacation and during everyday life. These photographs become the inspiration for Krista and Coreen, both fibre artists. Three, Two, One – Create can be summed up as three artists using two different mediums in one exhibition that depicts the creative process.
In addition to the exhibit, the Textile and Fibre Artists of Manitoba (TFAM) and PDAC will present the following workshops at PDAC: Designing for Your Fibre Art with Coreen Zerr, Aug. 7-9, Fabric Painting with Krista Zeghers, Aug. 8 and Cyanotyping with Krista Zeghers on Aug. 9. To register, email email@example.com.
The Portage & District Arts Centre (www.portageartscentre.ca) will be displaying Three, Two, One – Create, a collaborative exhibition by Krista Zeghers, Don Zeghers and Coreen Zerr from July 31 to Sept. 8.
