A traffic stop Aug. 16 led to the seizure of 26 grams of meth(amphetamine and weapons.
Portage la Prairie RCMP officers conducted the routine traffic stop on 8 St. NW just past midnight that led to a search of the vehicle resulting in the drugs and weapons being seized.
The developing investigation led to a search warrant being executed on 8 Street NW address where officers discovered an extensive list of stolen property. This included over 15 bicycles, a motorcycle, various electronics, other weapons and drug-related paraphernalia.
Police arrested Dexter Roulette, 33, of Portage la Prairie. Roulette was remanded into custody on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and numerous other Criminal Code charges. He is scheduled for an Aug. 16 court appearance in Winnipeg.
A 49-year-old female from the RM of Dufferin, and a 25-year-old female, from the RM of Portage la Prairie, were both released from police custody for court scheduled in Portage la Prairie.
