Tourism award for Bill’s Sticky Fingers

Professionally restaurateur Bill Protopapas is a pretty humble guy even knowing he has the best ribs in town.

Chances are very good the owner of Bill’s Sticky Fingers will remain the affable host of the popular downtown Portage la Prairie eatery even after winning a Manitoba Tourism Award of Distinction – Business announced at a Sept. 13 gala.

Every year, the Manitoba Tourism Awards recognizes outstanding contributions to the provincial tourism industry, including promoting Manitoba as a quality destination, ensuring exceptional visitor experiences and fostering a professional tourism industry. Protopapas daily dishes out similar awards to all of his customers — the large majority are fiercely loyal patrons — as he makes dining in his establishment an enjoyable experience on many levels.

“A huge congratulations to Bill’s Sticky Fingers Restaurant for their big win tonight at Manitoba Tourism awards, taking home the Award of Distinction for a business,” Portage Regional Economic Development Executive Director Vern May posted following the huge local win. “We were pleased to be on hand to see him accept this great honour.”
