RCMP seeks public’s assistance in Selkirk homicide investigation

Selkirk RCMP along with the RCMP Major Crimes Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying any suspicious persons or activities, and/or persons hitchhiking in the Selkirk areas of Jemima Bay, Main Street, old Henderson Highway, and Highway 9 south to Lockport between 6 a.m. on Nov. 16 and 6 a.m. Nov. 17, 2018.

On Nov. 16, 2018, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Selkirk RCMP responded to a call of a 64-year-old male in cardiac arrest at a residence located in Selkirk.

Officers attended and located the male who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The death is being treated as a homicide.

Selkirk RCMP along with the RCMP Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services continue to investigate.
