Professional wrestling returns to Portage on March 27
A Spanish giant, a Belgian Bull, a Mexican daredevil, an Austrian leg breaker and more are in store for local fans of professional wrestling when the body slammers from Canadian Wrestling’s Elite (CWE) return to Portage la Prairie on March 27 at the MNP Exhibition Building on Island Park.
Wrestling fans will delight to see the return of CWE Champion Danny Duggan and masked high flyer Mentallo, and Portage la Prairie’s own “Mr. Beefy Goodness” Vance Nevada. They are joined by an international line-up of talent, many of which are making their first visit to Canada as part of this record-breaking tour. Those at ringside on March 27th will get their first look at a roster from multiple European nations. Germany’s Norman Harras, Austria’s Martin Pain, Belgium’s Robin Lekime, and seven-foot giant Alex Ace of Spain are billed to appear. In all, six matches will fill the evening:
Ladies match: Maddison Miles vs. Alix Zwicker
3-way “Anything Goes” match: Mike Mission vs. Bobby Collins vs. Scott Ripley
Vance Nevada vs. Robin Lekime
Tag Team Championship match: A.J. Sanchez & Kevin O’Doyle vs. Alex Ace & Norman Harras
Heavyweight Title match: Danny Duggan vs. Martin Stone
High Flying Frenzy: Psicosis vs. Mentallo
The main eventers, each incognito behind their signature masks are sure to thrill the Portage crowd. Psicosis, a 30-year international star of the mat is a formerly of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Hailing from Tijuana, he’ll be tested to the limit by his opponent, “The Zombie Killer” Mentallo, one of Canada’s most prolific wrestlers – and who has also seen success on multiple tours of Mexico and Japan during his career.
