The Island Serenade’s promoter — a free June concert series on the green bandstand in Island Park — is happy the first-time series of concerts started on a high note.
Interested more about what a reporter might think of his handiwork, promoter Terry Human, who kicked off the concert series, could only humbly ask “what did you think”? If applause from the several hundred in attendance to listen to The Terry Human Band featuring Mark Morisseau, Vince Uhryniuk and Ken Campbell, is a gauge, the new series will be well-attended.
For the rest of June, there will be a free concert each Thursday night starting at 7 p.m.
Jimmy Sharpe and The Edge and the Northern Reflections head-up June 13.
Further dates in June include:
June 13 – Jimmy Sharpe and The Edge / Northern Reflections
June 20 – Local Talent Night
June 27 – Johnny Dietrich & Kickin’ Up Dust with The Sharpe Sisters sharing the bill as special guests.
Bring a chair, bring a friend or two or three or more.
In the event of rain, Human says Stride Place has agreed to allow the use of the multipurpose room so the show can go on.
