Sunset Palliative Care’s annual community barbecue is set to go on Friday, June 14 running from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Portage Co-op Marketplace.
“This is our main fundraiser for our non-profit organization,” says Aldene Moroz, Sunset Palliative Care coordinator
“All proceeds raised from the barbeque and giant rainbow auction will be in support of Sunset Palliative Care. This year we are celebrating our 25th year serving the community. Remember, your contributions will go a long way in making this event extra special as well,” Moroz said.
Sunset Palliative Care is a non-profit charitable organization committed to providing compassionate care to individuals and their families living with a life-threatening or terminal illness when the hope of a cure is no longer medically possible. Sunset’s programs are designed to provide end of life support and significance in a safe, comfortable and caring environment. Programs are delivered by trained volunteers – special, sincere, considerate and compassionate people, who provide life’s greatest kindnesses, even when it is difficult to do so. Please remember we all could receive this news in the future that we are palliative or a relative who is very special to us could receive this terrible diagnosis as well.
If you would like to donate, if you are unable to attend please send donations to PO Box 92 Portage la Prairie, R1N 3B2, a charitable receipt will be issued.
