Little Miss Higgins – SUBMITTED
Free your spirit at the 7th annual folk festival on
August 27-29 in Portage la Prairie.
Folk Fest is here. Three days of festivities: “discover Whoop & Hollar!”
In addition to two days of mainstage performances at the Portage Fairgrounds on Island Park on Friday, August 27-28, the 2021 Whoop & Hollar Folk Festival is now offering a third day of live music, with free pop-up concerts added on Sunday, Aug. 29.
Whoop & Hollar is teaming up with Curbside Concerts to present an afternoon of pop-up shows along the Crescent Lake waterfront in Portage la Prairie, taking place between noon and 5 p.m. on festival Sunday!
These shows—featuring JD Edwards (folk/roots/country), Romi Mayes (blues/folk), Chris Messytone (ethnopop/world fusion), Fubuki Daiko (traditional Japanese drumming), and Papa & Epp Duo (Afro Cuban/Latin)—are free to the public and accessible via the community walkway along Crescent Lake, just off Crescent Road between River Road and Wilkinson Crescent. Take a Sunday afternoon stroll and discover some great Manitoban music along the way.
