The Portage Citizen

The Portage la Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce is going back to the basics on May 15 with a “Chamber 101” meeting to explain what the business group is really about.

This is “geared toward new chamber members and members who want to learn more about the chamber,” explains Cindy McDonald, chamber executive director. “What we are, what we’re not, how to maximize your membership, cost savings and more.”

The chamber’s group insurance representative will be there to talk about chamber group insurance and its benefits.

“We’ve (also) introduced a home-based business membership,” McDonald said. The $50 membership is for one year and includes your business name listed in the chamber business directory and on its website.

There is no charge for the 4 p.m. Chamber 101 meeting to be held at the chamber’s office at 20 Saskatchewan Ave. E. The chamber requests you RSVP Cindy at the chamber.
