Having not yet produced even an ounce of pea protein it is well known for and is building a nearly half-billion dollar plant in Portage la Prairie, Roquette Canada is attracting attention as being a great place to work.
Roquette, a global leader in plant-based ingredients for food, nutrition and health markets that is building the world’s largest pea protein plant in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, was named one of Manitoba’s Top Employers for 2020.
Manitoba’s Top Employers is an annual competition recognizing the Manitoba employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.
This designation comes on the heels of Roquette being recognized in October as one of Canada’s best employers for recent college and university graduates in The Career Directory.
“This is a tremendous honour for Roquette and will certainly help us to attract the best talent in Manitoba and all of Canada for the new state-of-the-art plant we are building,” said Dominique Baumann, Roquette Canada Managing Director.
“We’ve been building our team for the plant, which is scheduled to begin operation by the end of 2020. We are currently recruiting the talent needed to finish the project, and make sure all our equipment is installed properly so we can be operational in just about one year from now,” Baumann added.
“Our people are at the very heart of all that we do,” said Anu Baldner, Human Resources Director – Canada. “It’s really gratifying to receive this recognition of our efforts to build the best team possible for our first foray into Canada.”
The selection of Roquette for this year’s Top Employers list was first announced in this (Dec. 4) morning’s issue of the Winnipeg Free Press. The reasons for selecting Roquette for the list are detailed in an employer review on Eluta.ca as well as in a special magazine published by the Winnipeg Free Press today.
