The “teacher” and classic rock favourites perform tonight as Concerts in the Park continues its free summer concert series on the island.
Portage la Prairie piano and vocal teacher Janalee Bell will step out of her classroom tonight as she opens for Big Radio at Concerts in the Park on the island at 6 p.m.
“My earliest memory of playing the piano was at the age of three, I played by ear and loved to show people what I could do. I started singing in church as a young child and often sang for hundreds of imaginary people in my basement as the acoustics were amazing down there.
“One of my greatest joys in life is performing music for others. I feel like I can inspire others and soothe their souls with the words of the songs I sing. My goal is to reach as many people with my music as I can. Without music, my life would be so empty and incomplete. Music heals, encourages, and isn’t always about what you hear, but what you feel deep in your soul. I am so honoured to share my love of music with as many people as I can.
Big Radio — Rob Zabowski (guitar & vocals), Kevin Zabowski (drums & vocals) and Matt Evenson (bass & vocals) are no strangers to the local music scene.
From its inception in late 2018, Big Radio has been steadily making waves. Comprised of members from local acts (Bros Zed and Crooked Archers) they are working to provide an experience that is genuine and honest, as well as fun and fresh.
Classic radio hits, as well as forgotten favourites, fill the band’s musical palette.
