Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to provide guidance in supporting programs for the youth of our community? Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for new board members. “If you want to make a difference to kids in our community and build a resume -we have the opportunity for you,” BBBS says in a press release.
“As a volunteer organization, we are wholly invested in supporting the development of a healthy and happy future for our young people. We imagine that future as one where all of our region’s young people can gain confidence to achieve happier lives, higher incomes and more contributions to their community,” the press release says.
As a board member, you will work with like-minded community members to make those brighter futures for school-aged youth. Requirements are simple. There is a commitment of time (10 board meetings a year), dedication to the goals of Big Brothers Big Sisters and working with others to strengthen the agency. “It’s been a rewarding experience knowing that I’m helping to create a better future for young kids. Board meetings are always entertaining.”
