Boss dances into new digs

Amid cheers and congratulations Sunday, owners Bretton and Lynsay Selent cut the ribbon and welcomed the community into its new facilities in the former Ukrainian Centennial Hall on Tupper St. and 6 Ave. NE.

From tenants in the Glesby, later a Saskatchewan Ave. address, the Selents have purchased its new address giving BOSS the confidence to invest in renovations to serve the dance and theatre community here for the long-term.

The move has given BOSS 7400 square feet to grow and dream in. “That’s cool,” says Bretton Selent. “We will have two large dance studio spaces with a professional spring floor. In the long-term, that’s phase two in our planning, is a 100-seat theatre downstairs.”

Prairie Theatre Academy fills out a one-two punch for arts in the newly renovated centre.

Boss Dance Academy is now taking online registration for its 28-week fall session. Classes include training in jazz / hip hop / contemporary / tap / musical theatre and ballet.
