The annual Louis Riel Day celebration will again prove to be fun for the whole family.
The Manitoba Metis Federation Portage Local and the Portage Regional Recreation
Authority have teamed together again to make sure the 7th Annual Louis Riel Day celebration on Feb. 18 will be a family attraction. Stride Place will be a hub of activity.
The Metis activities will begin at 1 p.m. This will include traditional food– bannock over an open fire – outdoor and indoor skating, hay rides, spot dances and prizes, face painting, music by Northern Reflections with guest performers, St. Claude Elementary School maple sugar treats, vendors, door prizes a photo booth and more.
There will be a special indoor public (regular prices apply) swim from noon to 6 p.m.
The Canadian Armed Forces Cadets 19 RCACC will have a display during the closing ceremonies. There is also an afternoon Terriers Game. The red hot Portage Terriers will host Virden.
