Submitted — Volunteers are still needed for the upcoming Manitoba Airshow taking place at Southport on July 7-8. The two-day event requires a number of volunteers in many different areas, including set-up and take-down, traffic, parking, security, ticketing and hospitality.

Volunteers who commit to two shifts or the equivalent of eight hours will receive a volunteer event shirt, identification lanyard, meal voucher and a one-day pass to the event.

Is your organization or group motivated to help and able to provide multiple volunteers? Volunteering for the Manitoba Airshow is a win-win opportunity! Groups that enter into a volunteer agreement will receive a donation in proportion to the number of volunteers provided. Organizations and groups will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Groups interested in entering into a volunteer agreement should contact Karen May at for more details.

Interested volunteers are requested to fill out the volunteer application form on the Manitoba Airshow website at Please fill out the form by May 31 in order to submit your t-shirt size. Any volunteer applications submitted after that date will be assigned a t-shirt on a first come first serve basis.

“Without volunteers, an event of this size would not be possible,” says Manitoba Airshow Co-Chair, Peggy May. “We’re looking forward to putting on a great event and showcasing Southport’s facilities. Help us show the thousands of expected guests everything Portage la Prairie has to offer by volunteering for the Manitoba Airshow!”
