Submitted — Volunteers are still needed for the upcoming Manitoba Airshow taking place at Southport on July 7-8. The two-day event requires a number of volunteers in many different areas, including set-up and take-down, traffic, parking, security, ticketing and hospitality.
Volunteers who commit to two shifts or the equivalent of eight hours will receive a volunteer event shirt, identification lanyard, meal voucher and a one-day pass to the event.
Is your organization or group motivated to help and able to provide multiple volunteers? Volunteering for the Manitoba Airshow is a win-win opportunity! Groups that enter into a volunteer agreement will receive a donation in proportion to the number of volunteers provided. Organizations and groups will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Groups interested in entering into a volunteer agreement should contact Karen May at mbairshowvolunteers@gmail.com for more details.
Interested volunteers are requested to fill out the volunteer application form on the Manitoba Airshow website at http://mbairshow.ca/7/volunteers. Please fill out the form by May 31 in order to submit your t-shirt size. Any volunteer applications submitted after that date will be assigned a t-shirt on a first come first serve basis.
“Without volunteers, an event of this size would not be possible,” says Manitoba Airshow Co-Chair, Peggy May. “We’re looking forward to putting on a great event and showcasing Southport’s facilities. Help us show the thousands of expected guests everything Portage la Prairie has to offer by volunteering for the Manitoba Airshow!”
