Pastoral public art scene vandalized

The mural on the wall behind the library and the Herman Prior Activity Centre was vandalized over the long weekend.

Once riddled with unsightly graffiti, the alley behind the library and Herman Prior Activity Centre went through a renaissance of sorts when about two years ago a local artist — Yvette Cuthbert — volunteering her time, organized the painting of a huge pastoral forest scene.

Up until sometime over the long weekend vandals respected the outdoor art installation. A vandal with a political agenda — not one about being law-abiding and not defacing public property — painted over a large part of the mural with the message to ‘Save Our Children’.
