Portage la Prairie RCMP roll out bicycle registry

In an attempt to return more bicycles to their rightful owners, Portage la Prairie RCMP will be creating a bicycle registry.

RCMP here has responded to over 50 calls of theft of bicycles this year alone not including all the bicycles that are found and turned over to be auctioned off. The Portage la Prairie RCMP will be creating a bicycle registry with information to identify the owner when abandoned or seized bicycles are located. A bicycle registration card can be picked up and returned back to the Portage la Prairie RCMP detachment which will then be entered into a database. The process will take but a few moments of your time and will provide the police with the means to identify your bicycle should it ever go missing.

The Portage la Prairie RCMP are encouraging anyone with a bicycle to pick up a bicycle registration card at the detachment. The service is free.
