Portage la Prairie RCMP received a call at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 16, reporting a stabbing in the 500 block of 4 St. NW.
Several individuals transported themselves to the hospital. Statements from witnesses indicate that a 39-year-old female from Portage la Prairie stabbed a 30-year-old female also from Portage la Prairie. Police learned this alleged assault was in retaliation to a break and enter and assault with a weapon that previously occurred on 18 St. NW. The 30-year-old female and a 33-year-old male attended the location on 18th St. NW and forced their way into the residence. They assaulted several victims and fled.
Portage la Prairie RCMP arrested all parties involved. The 39-year-old female from Portage la Prairie is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and possess weapon for dangerous purpose and was remanded into custody. The 33-year-old male is charged with break and enter utter threats, careless use of a firearm and three counts of assault causing bodily harm and was remanded into custody. An unendorsed warrant of arrest was issued for a 30-year-old female from Portage la Prairie who is charged with break and entering.
