Roquette, a global leader in plant-based ingredients for food, nutrition and health markets that is building the world’s largest pea protein plant in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, announced today a new leader for its Canada efforts.
Effective July 1, 2019, Dominique Baumann, serves as Global Project Director of the plant under construction and Canada Managing Director. Dominique has a long record of accomplishment with Roquette, where he spent an important part of his career in leadership positions in the US. He moved to Asia in 2016 to take on the role of Greater Asia Area Coordinator and successfully lead the creation of Roquette’s Singapore Regional Headquarters as the hub for the company’s operations in Greater Asia.
In his new role, Dominique will oversee the Canada pea plant project, which remains on schedule to begin operations at the end of 2020. As he took this role, he said, “Roquette is a pioneer of new vegetal proteins. The pea plant we are building in Portage is one of the most critical milestones in our ambition to become the global leader of plant protein, and I am very pleased to have been given the chance to lead this exciting project.”
