Stolen vehicle recovery leads to multiple arrests

A tip to police Sept. 15 led to four arrests and multiple drug and weapons charges.

A tip of an intoxicated female passenger in a vehicle at an address in the 100 block of 4 St. S.E. in Portage la Prairie. on Sept. 15, at 9:50 a.m., led to the arrest of four and various drug and weapons charges being laid.

In a Sept. 21 press release, Portage la Prairie RCMP say investigating officers found a 36-year-old Winnipeg woman in a car determined to be stolen from Lac du Bonnet.

The 36-year-old was arrested on scene and also found in possession of a prohibited weapon and a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

The investigation led officers to an apartment complex, in the 100 block of 4 St. S.E., where officers located a firearm and a can of bear spray. Three additional suspects were arrested at this location.

“A search warrant executed at this address resulted in the seizure of additional drugs believed to be methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin,” RCMP say in the press release.

The following subjects were arrested and remanded into custody on numerous charges;

Melodie Bellisle, 36, of Pine Falls

  • possession of property obtained by crime
  • possession of a prohibited weapon
  • possession of a controlled substance

Lisa Beaulieu, 35, of Winnipeg

  • careless use of a firearm
  • possession of a prohibited weapon
  • possess weapon contrary to order
  • possession for the purpose of trafficking

Kara Fredette, 20, of Winnipeg

  • careless use of a firearm
  • possession of a prohibited weapon
  • possession for the purpose of trafficking

Luke Woodhouse, 25, of Winnipeg

  • careless use of a firearm
  • possession of a prohibited weapon
  • possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • possession of property obtained by crime

The four accused appeared in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on September 16, 2020.
