Warmer weather brings respite to parts of Manitoba

The Polar Vortex has recalled its freezing tentacles and Portagers can look forward to some unseasonally warmer temperatures.

The long-range forecast calls for -11c today and Friday with temperatures climbing to a -2c on Saturday, +1c on Sunday, a truly balmy +4c on Monday and dipping back again to low minus digits for the beginning of next week.

The warmer temperature today has brought the birds out in ernest. Here a couple of sparrows enjoy an afternoon snow bath in the sunshine. Citizen photo/Mickey Dumont
