An expanded Whoop & Hollar Folk Festival for 2019 has led to interesting improvements, including RV camping in a unique forest setting on an adjoining property.
“This year’s festival is a weekend-long event and we want the experience to be fun and accessible for all,” says artistic director, Josh Wright.
Organizers are excited to have found space for RV camping on a neighbouring property 500 metres northwest of the festival site along the Assiniboine River.
A partnership between Whoop & Hollar Folk Festival and the Stanley family will allow for the close by RV camping.
Property owner, Dave Stanley, says the original owner, Fred Sanford, created a unique forest setting which they have maintained. “Fred would be so pleased to know it’s being enjoyed in this way,” Stanley said. “It’s part of community spirit and helping out your neighbour.”
Festival coordinator, Linda Omichinski explains the tent camping site has been expanded and will remain on the festival grounds. “That space will also allow a few RV sites for volunteers, musicians and sponsors.
